All About Me

I have been teaching 3rd grade for MANY years and LOVE it!! My husband and I are both from Edwardsville, born and raised, both graduated from EHS , and from Western Illinois University. I also have a master's degree in Instruction Technology from SIUe. We have 2 sons; Cale completed 1.5 years at Murray State University and will be starting at Ranken Technical College this fall. Nolan is a senior at EHS and is on the football team. We  also have a princess dog named Ellie . I am excited to have your child in our School Family this year and cannot wait to work with all of you this year.
Rewards

Class V.I.P.

Each day I will select 1 students that had exceptional behavior and great citizenship to be our VIP the following day. He/She will get special privileges for the day. Some of these include sitting in the cool chairs in the room, working away from their desks, being the teacher assistants for the day, and using one of our classroom Chromebooks during any down-time. He/She will also get to pick a friend to celebrate their special day with them.

Bucket Fillers

Students fill classmate's buckets when they see random acts of kindness. They write the act of kindness on an index card and place it in the bucket. We celebrate these "Bucket Fillers" every Friday.

Homework Club

Students who turn their homework in every day during the week, remain in the Homework Club, and will be rewarded on Friday

Fun Friday

Students with good behavior throughout the week will have the opportunity to participate in a special class activity on Friday. See "consequences" on how students become ineligible for Fun Friday.

Marble Jar

Every day your child remains on "green", they place a marble in the jar. When the jar is full, we celebrate :)

Consequences

Ready to Roll

U Turn

Detour

pit stop

All students start the day on "Ready to Roll". As mistakes are made, students will "magnet down" and consequences will be issued. "U Turn" is a visual warning that consequences will soon occur. “Detour” results in the loss of recess that day or the following. “Pit Stop” results in parent contact which may be through email, a note, or a phone call. Moving to red may also result in a detention or principal referral depending on the severity of the behavior. Any student moving to orange or red will sign the behavior log and behavior(s) will be documented in their agenda. Movement to yellow will be coded in the agenda, but no behavior will be documented. A parent signature is required if behaviors are documented. It is the student's responsibility to show you their agenda and obtain a signature. No signature = loss of recess minutes the following day. A student will be out of Fun Friday for the following: 3 days + on yellow, 2 days + on orange, 1 day + on red.
